Please answer 'yes' to make sure that you receive all of our important logistical information!
Check back here each week after you pick up your share for harvest notes about the weeks' haul.
WHERE TO PICK UP YOUR SHARE:
The pickup will be in the same place it has been for the past few seasons. For new members- when you turn onto Dover Rd from Farmington, turn into the first place that you can on the right- the Beth David Synagogue parking lot. Look for CSA signage and follow them to the back entrance to the synagogue. Please drive slowly in the parking lot and use caution as many members and children will be moving about.
BYOB- BRING YOUR OWN BAGS: You'll need to unpack your produce from our harvest crates into your own bags, so bring in your West Hartford totes (new members, you will receive these this week) or other produce-schlepping medium. You may also want to bring plastic bags to put bunches of greens and such in. If you have a bunch of extra plastic bags laying around and ready for re-use, please bring those in so we have backups available to members.
When you walk into the building you will be facing a line of tables bearing vegetables. Please start from the left side, where we will take your name on a sign-in sheet, offer you harvest notes to help guide you through the items in your share, and distribute tote bags to new members.
We'll be selling our famous pickled products and jams this week at the pickup! Please come prepared to meet the farmers, ask us your burning questions, and stock-up on kimchi or sauerkraut.June 9
Spread the word as non-members may want to come buy pickles and jams.
Blue Earth Compost will again offer composting services through the CSA. Bring your acceptable kitchen scraps (see guidelines below) to the pickup and add them to the large container. If you need a container to transport your scraps, you can order one for $10 from Blue Earth at the CSA pick up. Blue Earth will bring the resulting compost to our location periodically for people to buy and add to their gardens, and will donate compost to Jessie’s Community Gardens. See the CSA website for more details about what scraps you should and should not bring.
Please be in touch if you have any questions about the CSA email@example.com. If you have questions about your volunteer shift, you can email firstname.lastname@example.org .
See you Thursday!
